Cotton Buds with Paper Stems in Cornstarch Bag — Eco-Friendly 500 Pack for Hotels, Care Homes and Welfare Distribution
These Cotton Buds by Toiletry Packs are made with 100% pure cotton tips on biodegradable paper stems, hygienically sealed in a plant-based cornstarch bag instead of single-use plastic. Each pack contains 500 buds, making them an economical eco-friendly choice for hotels, holiday lets, care homes, charities and welfare distribution programmes. The paper stem design is sturdy enough for precision use — make-up application, nail polish clean-up, delicate skincare and everyday personal hygiene — while the resealable cornstarch pouch keeps the buds clean and dust-free in busy bathroom or amenity-kit environments. Manufactured to UK quality standards. Product Code: TECBUDS500, EAN: [to be assigned].

Who buys these cotton buds: Hotels, bed & breakfasts, guesthouses, holiday lets, serviced apartments and Airbnb hosts stock them in guest bathroom vanity kits as a low-cost, eco-credential amenity. Care homes use them in resident personal-care routines. Charities, food banks, women's refuges, homeless outreach teams and hygiene-pack distributors include them in dignity packs and welfare distribution alongside toothbrushes, soap and sanitary items. Local councils and housing associations specify plastic-free amenity items on ESG-aligned procurement frameworks.
Why choose these over plastic-stem alternatives: Plastic cotton-bud stems are one of the most commonly found single-use plastics on UK beaches and were banned from sale to consumers in England in 2020. These paper-stem buds remove that environmental issue entirely — the stem composts, the tip is pure cotton, and even the bag is cornstarch rather than polyethylene. For hotels chasing Green Tourism, Green Key or B Corp credentials, swapping plastic-stem buds is a low-cost, high-visibility sustainability win that guests notice. For welfare distributors and councils tendering on procurement frameworks, the plastic-free spec ticks ESG boxes without inflating unit cost. Tiered pricing means the unit price drops as order quantity increases — bulk buyers pay materially less per pack than single-unit retail.
How to use: Tear or peel open the resealable cornstarch pouch, remove the required number of buds, then reseal the pouch to keep remaining buds clean. Use the cotton tip for the intended task — make-up application or removal, nail-polish clean-up around the cuticle, delicate skin and ear cleaning, baby grooming or general precision cleaning. Dispose of used buds in general waste; the paper stem and cotton tip are home-compostable in the right conditions. Keep out of reach of small children. Not intended for insertion into the ear canal — for outer ear use only.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these cotton buds biodegradable? Yes. The stem is paper and the tip is 100% pure cotton — both biodegradable. The outer pouch is a cornstarch-based bioplastic, which is also compostable under the right conditions. There is no plastic in the product.
How many cotton buds are in each pack? Each cornstarch pouch contains 500 cotton buds with paper stems.
Can I buy a single pack or do I need to order a case? There is no minimum order at toiletrypacks.co.uk — buy a single pack or order in volume. Tiered pricing means the unit price drops as order quantity increases, so larger orders unlock better per-pack pricing.
Are these suitable for hotel vanity kits and dignity packs? Yes. The 500-pack format, eco credentials and neutral plastic-free packaging make them a standard inclusion in hotel guest amenity kits, care-home personal-care trolleys and charity dignity packs.
Are these cotton buds cruelty free and vegan? Yes. They are not tested on animals and contain no animal-derived materials.
What is the difference between paper-stem and plastic-stem cotton buds? Paper-stem cotton buds are biodegradable and compliant with the UK ban on plastic-stem cotton buds introduced in 2020. Plastic-stem cotton buds are no longer permitted to be sold to consumers in England.
What is the Product Code and EAN for this product? The Toiletry Packs Product Code is TECBUDS500. The EAN will be confirmed at dispatch — please contact us for the current batch barcode if required for marketplace listing.
